                       Vehicle Transport Times Across Canada

At Send A Car, we want our customers to have a clear understanding of the time involved in transporting vehicles across Canada. Many cross-country trips cover 4,000 to 5,000 kilometres, and there are several important factors that affect how quickly your vehicle can be picked up and delivered.

The Complexity of Door-to-Door Transport

Unlike shipping a parcel, transporting vehicles involves detailed coordination. Each pickup and delivery location is unique, often requiring extra time to safely load or unload vehicles in residential or commercial areas.

Factors Affecting Transport Time

  • Weather Conditions – Snow, rain, fog, and icy roads can reduce driving speed and impact safety.

  • Road Conditions – Accidents, construction, and seasonal closures can cause unexpected delays.

  • Traffic – Heavy congestion, particularly in large metropolitan areas such as the Greater Toronto Area, can extend delivery times.

  • Driver Regulations – By Canadian law, commercial drivers must comply with strict log book and Hours of Service regulations. This means drivers are required to take regular rest periods, ensuring safety for everyone on the road.

  • Human Needs – Our professional car hauler operators are people, not machines, and as a such they get treated as professionals they are. Time must be allowed for sleep a minimum of 7 to 8 hours, have healthy meals, gym, sauna or steam room, showers, to proper rest to ensure alertness and safe operation of the truck.

What This Means for Customers

The truck does not run 24 hours a day, and transport times cannot be compared to nonstop travel by car. A cross-country delivery can take several days depending on distance, weather, and other real-world conditions.

At Send A Car, safety and care always come first. We appreciate your understanding of the complexities involved and thank you for trusting us with your vehicle.
